Our Team

Lawrence W. Walsh, President

Education: San Diego State University- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, 1986

Licenses: Registered Civil Engineer, RCE 46316; Professional Land Surveyor, PLS 7006

Larry Walsh has over 25 years of Land Development related experience. His career began with Subdivision Design at Rick Engineering Company. Projects included developments in Otay Mesa and Scripps Ranch. At RBF he became a project manager where he was able to put his design experience and organizational skills to use on several high profile projects.

In 1998, Larry joined Continental Homes/DR Horton, as the Construction Contracts Manager for the Rancho Carrillo project, an 1800 unit master planned community in Carlsbad. Spending one year directly in the construction industry for one of San Diego’s top builders completed a well-rounded portfolio of experience. This together with subdividing and developing his own properties gave Larry the experience and knowledge necessary to establish Walsh Engineering & Surveying, Inc. in 1999. His continued direct involvement in each project has ensured their efficient and timely completion.


Lee Whittington, Project Manager

Education: Colorado School of Mines- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, 1994 Minor in Geotechnical Engineering
Licenses: Registered Civil Engineer, RCE 82332

Lee came to Walsh Engineering & Surveying, Inc. in September of 2013. He brought with him 19 years in professional engineering experience. Lee previously lived in Colorado where he owned and operated his own Civil Engineering design and consulting business for over 9 years. His experience covers a wide range of skills from project management, roadway design, land/urban development, site grading, drainage to hydraulics and hydrology and many more skills associated with Civil Engineering. We are lucky to have a seasoned and knowledgeable professional such as Lee join the Walsh Engineering & Surveying, Inc. team.

Ramzy De Castro, EIT Engineering Designer

Education: B.S. Civil Engineering from San Diego State University 2013

Ramzy is a very driven and dedicated individual who has experience in Land Development, Wastewater Management as well as Public Works Projects. He was the President of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of the National Civil Engineering Honors Society at San Diego State University. He has been a great addition to our team. We look forward to his long career at Walsh Engineering & Surveying, Inc.


Howard Anderson Jr., Survey Assistant

Education: Current Civil Engineering student

Howard joined Walsh Engineering & Surveying, Inc. in February of 2014. His knowledge of survey equipment and processes has been a tremendous help to our Survey Department. While utilizing his survey skills, Howard is also going to school for Civil Engineering. His strong work ethic and desire to succeed is highly valued here at Walsh Engineering & Surveying, Inc. and we look forward to his growth within the company.



Alessandro Maganuco, Intern

Education: B.S. Environmental Science with a minor in Geography from University of California, Los Angeles. Expected to graduate with M.S. in Civil Engineering in the spring of 2015

Alessandro began interning with Walsh Engineering & Surveying, Inc. the beginning of 2014. He is currently working towards a M.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Environmental Engineering at SDSU. Alessandro is very professional and detailed oriented and he provides much needed support to all the Civil Engineering staff. In his most recent position, Alessandro translated and programmed planned drawings into detailed AutoCAD designs for two different Router Machines. We look forward to his move to a full time employee in the very near future.

Brendan Hofstee, Civil Engineering Intern

Education: Civil Engineering Major from Cal Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Expected to graduate with degree in Civil Engineering in the spring of 2014.

Brendans’ studies have included researching the hydraulic conductivity of Geosynthetic Clay Liners, Auto CAD, Civil Engineering materials, Geotechnical and Transportation engineering, Surveying, and report writing among many other Engineering studies. Brendan shows great promise and we look forward to his growth within the company.

Danielle Roth, Office Manager

Danielle RothEducation: B.A. in Education SDSU 2004

Danielle came to Walsh Engineering & Surveying, Inc. with skills in Bookkeeping, Education and Administrative Support. She joined us as our Administrative Assistant but due to her hard work and versatile skills she has been since promoted to Office Manager. Danielle’s cheerful attitude and dedication to providing customers a personal and professional experience makes her a pivotal member of the team.




Nichole Moritz, Administrative Assistant

Nichole’s strong organizational skills and upbeat attitude has made her a welcomed addition to the Walsh team. She has experience with many different industries, which is invaluable. Nichole provides exceptional customer support, which is essential to providing all clients with the highest level of service Walsh Engineering & Surveying, Inc. clients deserve.
